Theme
No one would perhaps
question that Tagore is a rare genius. In the choice of varied
subjects as also in carrying out various experimentations in forms,
he leaves the mark of his genius. We continue to proceed through
our many interpretations of his works and the quest never ceases.
We acknowledge that his creation is important and we also
acknowledge that his persona is perhaps equally important.
Different critics make different assessments of his works which
further ensure the depth and multiplicity of his versatile talent.
His creativity- manifest in many fields of cultural and social
activity- can best be termed as multifarious and multidimensional.
The many layered and multicoloured nature of his genius informs our
seminar subtitle “Many Hues, Many Shades” as we honestly try to come
to grips with this great Indian who continues to enlighten our
search for physical and metaphysical significances of life and
literature.
